Ronaldo Lemos
Director and General Coordinator of all programs at the Center for Technology and Society at the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) School of Law in Rio de Janeiro.
He is also Director of Creative Commons Brazil and serves as member on the Board of iCommons, the international Creative Commons project.
Dr. Lemos is a visiting professor at Oxford University (Michaelmans Term, 2005), and professor of law at FGV Law School, lecturing on intellectual property in the Continuing Education department. He earned his LL.B. and LL.D. from the University of São Paulo, and his LL.M. from Harvard Law School.
He is author of the book “Direito, Tecnologia e Cultura,” published by FGV Press, 2005. He is also one of the founders Overmundo, and serves as member of the Electronic Commerce Commission appointed by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice.
Joana Varon Ferraz
Researcher on Development and Intellectual Property at the Centre for Technology and Society (CTS/FGV) from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) School of Law in Rio de Janeiro, where she teaches at the Graduate School, manages the project A2K Brasil and acts as civil society representative at Stearing Committees from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Lawyer and bachellor in International Relations, she has a Master in Law and Development at the Sao Paulo Law School of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (EDESP/FGV), when she developed the research: “Trajectory of the Juridical Institutional Framework for the Software Sector in Brazil and India: identities, differences and repercussions.”
Specialist in Intellectual Property and in Law and New Technologies, she is also an associate researcher from research centres: Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento (CEBRAP) and Observatory of Innovation and Competitiveness from the Institute of Advanced Studies (IEA-USP), focusing in the fields of institutional development, knowledge economy and innovation. Among the most recent publications: “Juridical Institutional Framework for the Software Sector in Brazil” in “Inovation: studies from young Brazilian researchers” (2010) and, in co-authorship with Prof Dr. Glauco Arbix: “Finland: competitiveness and knowledge economy” (2009), published by IPEA and “Finland: a jump towards knowledge economy” in “Innovation Strategies from 7 countries” (2010), published by the Brazilian Agency of Industrial Development (ABDI).
Carlos Affonso Pereira de Souza
Researcher in the A2K program and adjunct coordinator for the Center for Technology and Society at Fundaçãoo Getúlio Vargas (FGV) School of Law in Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Pereira de Souza is professor of law at FGV Law School and a lecturer in FGV’s continuing education and specialization departments. He also lectures in the graduate and post-graduate departments at Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-Rio) School of Law in Rio de Janeiro, and at the Law School of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). He is a member of the Copyright and Entertainment Law Commission of the Rio de Janeiro Bar Association (OAB-RJ), and earned his Masters in Law from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), where he is currently a LL.D. candidate. He is co-author of the books Comentários � Lei de Imprensa (Forense/2004), and Código Civil Interpretado Conforme a Constituição da República (Renovar/2004).
Sérgio Branco
Researcher for the A2K program and project leader at the Center for Technology and Society at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas School of Law in Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Branco holds a Masters in Law from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), and is a LL.D. candidate at the same University.
He is a specialist in intellectual property at Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-Rio). He is also a former chief-attorney of the Brazilian National Institute of Information Technology – ITI, in Brasília, and former coordinator of analysis and development for the post-graduate department at FGV DIREITO RIO.
Mr. Branco is legal consultant for the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, and has worked for more than five years at the law firm Barbosa, M�ssnich & Aragão and holds a LL.B. from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ).
Paula Martini
Colaborator and co-editor of the A2K Programe. MBA in Culture Management at Candido Mendes University, and B.A. in Social Communications (journalism) at Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-Rio). Has undertaken Media Practices and Social Knowledge & Perspectives at Middlesex University in London, UK. Has experience in communications aimed at cultural production.
Arthur Protasio
Arthur is a CTS and A2K intern. He currently attends Law School at PUC-Rio. As a writer and an aspiring video game designer he takes part in a game design research and development group at PUC-Rio, writes a column on independent games, and has also taken screen writing courses.
Koichi Kameda
Koichi is a CTS and A2K intern. He currently attends Law School at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). He develops research on Biolaw and has been a scholarship holder from Research Aid Fund of Rio de Janeiro (FAPERJ). He also holds a Technical degree on Biotechnology (CEFET Química).
Koichi was an exchange student at Kobe University, Japan (2007-2008).
